Santa’s Reindeer Costumes
What You Need:
- Silver Paper
- Large Cup
- Gold Bells
- Red Ribbon
- Thin Gold Ribbon
- Reindeer Antlers
Step 1: Pick a Reindeer
We decided to dress up like the characters of each individual reindeer and then all wear antlers and matching name tags. To get started we each had to pick a reindeer to dress up as. There are nine reindeer: Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Blitzen, Cupid, Donner, Prancer and Vixon.
Step 2: Find the Antlers
I found the felt reindeer antlers at Century Novelty for about $2 each. You can check them out by clicking here.
Step 3: Make the Name Tags
Trace nine circles on the paper using the base of the cup. Cut each circle out and then write the names of the reindeer on them. Cut a piece of red ribbon that is long enough to go around your neck and staple to the back of the name tag. Using the thin ribbon, thread it through the top of the bells and then tie them on the red neck ribbon.
Step 4: Dress Up
Here are some of the ways we interpreted the names of each reindeer:
Blitzen: Dress up like a football player. Wear a football jersey and shorts.
Dasher: Dress up like a runner. Wear track shorts, a sports top and track shoes.
Dancer: Dress up like a ballerina. Wear a tutu and a leotard.
Prancer: Dress up like a gymnast. Wear a leotard and leggings.
Comet: Dress up like a star. Wear all silver.
Vixon: Dress up provacatively. Wear a red corset and tutu.
Rudolph: Dress up like a nerd. Wear suspenders and a red nose.
Cupid: Dress up like cupid. Wear red and heart accesories.
Donner: Dress up like thunder ( donner means thunder in Greek). Wear a toga with a lightning bolt.
